family playgroup offers child-led fun in a safe yet exciting outdoor setting. it combines free play and messy exploration with an interactive music and movement storytime for families. adults can connect with one another while children explore, get messy, and learn in a natural environment. caretakers can take a step back, allowing even the most timid children to gain confidence, independence, and a sense of accomplishment.
this program was thoughtfully created by me, a mom of highly sensitive children, who recognized the need for a gentler approach to first separations. i understand how important it is for the whole family to feel safe, seen, and supported when entering new environments. while participation isn’t required before drop-off playgroup, it serves as a wonderful stepping stone for helping children acclimate to drop-off settings such as school, daycare, and beyond.
